Loving someone vs. Being "in love"

Loving someone is an act of giving and can be tiring at times. Being "in love" seems selfish to me as it gives so much to oneself. When you are in love, you are inspired and energized by the person and it is rare and unearthly. It is a true gift from God, who is love.
